AT TOKYO and IDC Frontier Data Centers to be Interconnected
Housing Rack and Domestic Cloud Services Available for
Both Sets of Customers

AT TOKYO Corporation (Headquarters: Koto-ku, Tokyo; President and Chief Executive Officer: Akira Nakamura; hereinafter referred to as “AT TOKYO”) and IDC Frontier Inc.
(Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Katsuhisa Suzuki; hereinafter referred to as “IDC Frontier”), a Softbank Corp’s data center and cloud computing subsidiary, are pleased to announce that the two companies will connect their data centers in September 2022.

This interconnection will bring a secure closed network between the data centers with prompt access and at low cost to customers using AT TOKYO, IDC Frontier, or both services.

AT TOKYO customers will have access to the housing services, domestic cloud services such as “IDCF Cloud” and “IDCF Private Cloud”, other services provided by IDC Frontier, and rack-to-rack connections across data centers of the two companies via “ATBeX(*1) ServiceLink for IDCF”.

IDC Frontier’s customers will be able to use rack-to-rack connections across data centers, connections to service providers located in the AT TOKYO data center, and other services available with ATBeX, by using the IDC Frontier’s closed network connection service named “Virtual Bridge (Interconnect: ATBeX)”.

The collaboration between these two major data center operators makes up one of the largest total floor spaces collectively in Japan(*2), and will help us to leverage our collective strengths by working closely to solve customers’ business obstacles for promoting digital transformation.

Benefits of AT TOKYO and IDC Frontier's Interconnection

The interconnection between AT TOKYO and IDC Frontier offers the following benefits:

■AT TOKYO Customers
AT TOKYO customers will have access to IDC Frontier’s data centers, housing service that supports high integrated systems (“High Power Housing Service”), and domestic cloud services (“IDCF Cloud” and “IDCF Private Cloud”). Offloading for resource allocation is also possible by adding high-performance IT equipment or cloud resources even in the peak demand period.

■IDC Frontier Customers
In addition to access to AT TOKYO’s data centers, IDC Frontier customers can easily connect to IX points from their data centers or cloud services via ATBeX.

■Both Companies’ Customers
Customers’ usability will be improved due to the rack scalability in response to the system expansion, redundant configuration across multiple locations and operators in Tokyo, Osaka, Kyushu, and Tohoku regions, and also the secure connections between the each other’s services in a closed network.
